Rays oil paintings are mostly impressionist in approach, direct responses to his subjects, central Manchester, the ship canal and sburban landscapes. They're painted with energetic brush strokes and vibrant colours. They share some of the subject matter of Rays namesake L.S. Lowry, but seem to be more influenced by Van Gough, or Sisley or perhaps Valette. Rays oils were paintined in the mid-nineteen seventies and remained a hidden secret until 2008. The work exhibited was all sold in a matter of hours and attracted interest and recorgnition from art critics and art collectors as far a field as America. Due to requests we have released limited edition prints of the work. Further original work will be exhibited and sold with some work exclusivle to this site. | Giclee Print | 250gsm | outer dimensions - 30x40 cm | art dimensions - 20x30 cm
